41st ANNUAL KEEP TEXAS BEAUTIFUL CONFERENCE- UPDATED INFORMATION
You don’t want to miss the insightful education sessions, engaging key note speakers, and invaluable networking opportunities offered at this year’s Annual Conference! Make plans now to be in Irving June 24-27 as we come together for a “green” future.

COMING SOON! Online Registration – KTB is pleased to offer online registration for this year’s conference! This is a secure, fast, and easy way to register. Online registration will be available later this month at www.ktb.org/conference. As before, we will continue to offer registration via fax and mail.

Speaker Highlights!
From global warming to gas mileage, and carbon footprints to corporate green campaigns, the drive to live sustainably is upon us. As in every opportunity, there are both dangers and possibilities that we face that did not exist even a few years ago. In his “Leading Green” presentation, John Schuster explores the real opportunities we have to live in harmony with green principles as companies, citizens, and communities. John was there for the first Earth Day, was a leader at EPA for seven years, and is green through and through. His honest and inspiring presentation will help you re-imagine your “green” opportunities.

Sergeant Dwight Waldo’s pre-conference training workshop on June 24 will introduce participants to several social websites, focusing on MySpace, and how to use them as a law enforcement tool to combat graffiti. The seminar will explain the types of intelligence available through the site and the extensive process necessary to create and serve a MySpace search warrant. Note: This program is restricted to law enforcement officers and prosecutors only. We ask that you please share this information with enforcement officers in your community!

More information on speakers and sessions and a schedule will be posted later this month at www.ktb.org/conference. You can find printable forms and hotel reservation information there as well. (Note: hotel reservation deadline is June 8, subject to availability.)

PRIZES NEEDED FOR CONFERENCE RAFFLE
Keep Texas Beautiful needs your help to fill out items for this year’s fundraising raffle to be held at the 41 st Annual Keep Texas Beautiful Conference! Your local businesses can show their support for a “green” future by donating exciting items everyone will be wishing for. There will be 600 tickets sold at the cost of $10.00 each during conference, with thousands of dollars worth of prizes being given away. A portion of the money raised during the event will go towards starting a conference scholarship program (available in 2009) for you and your fellow affiliates. Please see the enclosed donation form or contact Michelle at michelle@ktb.org or 1-800-CLEAN-TX.

KTB BOARD AFFILIATE REPRESENTATIVE NOMINATIONS
Keep Texas Beautiful affiliate coordinators and executive directors are vital in helping us carry out our mission. Having designated affiliate representatives on the Board of Directors facilitates receiving input and information from this important group. KTB has reserved a second position on the Board of Directors for a coordinator/executive director from a Texas Keep America Beautiful affiliate. The affiliate representative will serve a two-year term so that they may have more time to ingrain themselves into the position. If you are interested in serving in this role, or know of a coordinator who might be a good representative, please review the materials on the criteria and process and submit a nomination form. You may contact the current affiliate representative, Doreen Richardson (Keep Midland Beautiful), at 432-687-7400 or keepmidlandbeautiful@clearwire.net with any questions about her experience in the position. Doreen is currently in the first year of a two-year term and will overlap with the incoming representative. Nominations are due Monday, April 30. The form and criteria are enclosed and may be downloaded at www.ktb.org/contacts/boardlist.html.

In addition, KTB is always seeking qualified board members and welcomes nominations from any interested KTB member who is 21 years old or older (due April 30 as well).
