H-E-B GREEN BAG/RECYCLING GRANTS
KTB is accepting applications for the H-E-B Green Bag Grants through September 15. Grants ranging from $150 to $3,000 are available to affiliates and their partners in an H-E-B service area with Good Standing status or better. Eligible affiliates were contacted earlier this summer, but if you believe you are eligible and did not receive an email, please contact Christine Chute Canul at christine@ktb.org. To learn more and download an application, visit www.ktb.org/hebrecyclinggrant.htm.

GET FREE SUPPLIES THROUGH THE TEXAS WATERWAY CLEANUP PROGRAM
The Texas Waterway Cleanup Program (TWCP) is here to help you restore and beautify lakes, creeks, streams, ponds, and other waterways in your community. We are pleased to partner with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to offer FREE supplies such as gloves, trash bags, hand sanitizer, posters, and more for cleanup projects around fresh water waterways.

If you are planning to host an event anytime before December 31, 2008, we ask you to please register by the fall season early deadline of Friday, August 1. Early registrations will be entered into a prize drawing to win one of five sets of 50 volunteer safety vests and two bottles of Ivy Block. Minimum early registration information includes group name, date, and waterway. Complete registration details can be provided eight weeks prior to event. Please contact Hester Bloom at hester@ktb.org with any questions.

SPRING TEXAS WATERWAY CLEANUP PROGRAM WRAP-UP WINNERS
Congratulations to Keep Falls County Beautiful and the City of Fort Worth on each winning the TWCP Spring Season wrap-up prizes. All Wrap-up reports returned to KTB within 10 days of the event were entered into a drawing for a one-year Texas State Parks Pass (value: $60).

Still haven’t turned in a wrap-up for spring events? Please do so ASAP so we may include your results in our totals.

FALL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES AND FUTURE TRAINING HOST SITES

KTB is pleased to announce training opportunities for the West Texas region this fall. Each training will consist of a KTB Overview and Guide to Affiliate Coordination as well as an Awards Training segment. Additionally, we are looking for host sites for future trainings in 2008-2009. Hosting is easy, fun, and a great opportunity to highlight your affiliate! To register for a training and to see a list of training types and suggested scheduling, see the enclosed menu or visit www.ktb.org/affiliates/training.html. Contact Hester Bloom at hester@ktb.org with questions or to let her know your interest in hosting a training.
