A Gift for Texas
Keep Texas Beautiful Second Edition Ornament
(AUSTIN, TEXAS) – If you think finding the perfect gift for your family is hard, try buying something for the state of Texas! Well, this year you can please both with one item. Keep Texas Beautiful, Inc. (KTB) is proud to announce the sale of its second edition ornament. Proceeds from the ornament fund KTB’s statewide network of more than 340 affiliates who focus on litter prevention, waste minimization, and community beautification programs.
The KTB second edition ornament features an image of Texas and its official tree, the pecan tree. The ornament was designed by Nelda Laney, who has designed ornaments for numerous Texas organizations and causes over the years, including KTB’s first edition ornament. The pecan tree is an important part of Texas history and KTB couldn’t think of a more fitting image for this year’s ornament. KTB partners with the Texas Forest Service each year for the annual Arbor Day celebration and poster contest, and KTB affiliates are continually beautifying their communities by planting trees of all types.
The ornament is made of 24 karat plated gold and is approximately three inches in diameter. Orders for both the first and second edition ornament can be made through a downloadable order form on KTB’s website ( www.ktb.org) or over the phone at 1-800-CLEAN-TX. “The ornaments make a beautiful gift for friends, family, colleagues or employees,” says Stacy Cantu, Executive Director of KTB. “When someone gives an ornament, they are giving back to our great state as well. Sales of the ornament support programs to improve communities and educate Texans on how to make Texas the cleanest, most beautiful state.”
Keep Texas Beautiful, the statewide grassroots community improvement and environmental organization and Keep America Beautiful affiliate, strives to empower Texans through education to take responsibility for enhancing their community environment. KTB works with volunteers, elected officials, businesses and state and federal agencies to ensure that every Texan has the opportunity to take individual responsibility for making Texas the cleanest, most beautiful state in the nation.
