WHEN:
Thursday, March 22, 2001 -- Noon until 5:30 p.m.
WHERE:
On the grounds of the 1,000-acre site of Texas Disposal Systems,
located southeast of downtown Austin.
Guests
are surrounded by a rustic pavilion, two authentic log cabins
and a ranching operation that features exotic animals from
Africa, the Middle East, India, New Zealand, Great Britain
and North America.
WHAT:
Similar to the style of a golf tournament, guests will be
matched on teams for a competitive, yet fun, skeet and sport
clay shoot.
Guests
will be competing for terrific gifts such as tickets to a
Texas Rangers game, Coca-Cola for a Year, hotel packages,
sporting gifts, and much more!
Sharp-shooting
instructors from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will
offer optional instruction beginning at noon, followed by
competitive play beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Late in
the afternoon, a BBQ buffet from Willhite's BBQ featuring
brisket, chicken, sausage and all the fixin's (and peach cobbler
to boot!) will be served during an award presentation.
A special
honor will be extended to State Representative Warren and
his wife Omega Chisum for their continuing environmental efforts
as the afternoon comes to a close.
COST:
The Warren and Omega Chisum Charity Skeet Shoot directly benefits
Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) and its numerous programs and projects.
For 34 years, KTB and its nearly 300 community affiliates
have worked diligently to maintain and enhance the beauty
of our Lone Star State. Programs include litter prevention
on our state's highways, roads, rivers, lakes and beaches;
community improvement, recycling, and youth education.
Please
join the KTB board of directors and members of the Texas legislature
to honor Mr. and Mrs. Chisum for their outstanding contributions
to preserving and protecting the beauty of Texas. Space is
