Entergy Awards $9,500 in Grants to
Keep Texas Beautiful Affiliates

May 15, 2007 – Entergy Corporation, in partnership with Keep America Beautiful (KAB) Inc., today announced it was awarding grants totaling $32,620 to 10 communities. Texas affiliates Keep Beaumont Beautiful, Keep Montgomery County Beautiful and Keep Somerville Beautiful will receive $5,000, $2,500 and $2,000 respectively.

The funds will be used for projects ranging from litter prevention and recycling education efforts to volunteer community clean-up programs. Other affiliates receiving grants areHot Springs Garland County Beautification Commission (Ark.), Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation, Team Green of Southwest Louisiana (Lake Charles), Keep West Monroe Beautiful (La.), Keep Baton Rouge Beautiful, Keep Jackson Beautiful (Miss.), and Keep Mississippi Beautiful.

The grants are the latest initiative to emerge from the Entergy/Keep America Beautiful partnership formed in June 2006. The partnership and grants are part of Entergy’s new five-year environmental strategy, which is designed to expand the company’s environmental stewardship focus. The partnership was formed in an effort to leverage both organizations’ shared goals, thus enabling Keep America Beautiful to involve Entergy employees in approximately 25 local affiliate communities with an emphasis on broadening local environmental stewardship programs. The company has built an exemplary model of corporate sustainable development by investing in stewardship programs and nonprofit organizations that support its dedication to creating strong, healthy communities and a better environment.

“This second round of grants demonstrates Entergy’s commitment to continue our partnership with Keep America Beautiful and the affiliates in our service area,” Entergy Safety and Environmental Services Director Jolecia Marigny said. “The results in our communities have been terrific, benefiting the volunteers who share their time and the organizations that coordinate various activities to improve the environment.”

Entergy Corporation, in partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful, awarded six (6) $600 grants to Keep Texas Beautiful affiliates earlier this year to help fund local Great American Cleanup initiatives.

Entergy Corporation is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. Entergy owns and operates power plants with approximately 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity, and it is the second-largest nuclear generator in the United States. Entergy delivers electricity to 2.6 million utility customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Entergy has annual revenues of over $10 billion and approximately 14,500 employees.
