KTB has taken the leadership role on the issue of illegal dumping and litter law enforcement by offering seminars and conferences, and forming a statewide task force to share information, discuss the issue and develop solutions.

Illegal Dumping Workshops
In a state as big as Texas, lots of folks just don’t see how throwing their old tires, household trash, or motor oil in a ditch or empty lot could be a crime. But it is. Not only is it against the law, but these actions can have serious environmental and economic implications.

Keep Texas Beautiful offers 2 to 8 hour workshops. The workshops are offered to law enforcement, code enforcement, attorneys and others interested in illegal dumping and environmental laws.

Stop Trashing Texas Education Kits
KTB developed a training kit including resource book, 2 4-hour TECLOSE approved courses, a PowerPoint presentation for local officials. The materials are designed so that officers may use them locally to train other officers or educate the public.

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) through a grant from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and Environmental Protection Agency Grant NE-97670301-0 have funded the development and distribution of the kits to workshop participants and enforcement personnel statewide.
