Report a Litterer

What do you do when you see someone tossing trash from their car window or witness debris flying out of a truck bed? TxDOT's Report a Litterer program allows Texans to turn in people they observe littering on roadways.

When you witness someone littering, write down the following information:

  • license plate number
  • make of vehicle
  • time of day
  • location
  • date
  • who tossed the litter (driver, passenger, or accidental)
  • what was tossed

Then, visit TxDOT's Report a Litterer web site to report the incident, and the litterer will receive a Don't Mess with Texas litterbag, along with a letter reminding them to keep trash off Texas roads.
