Get Caught in the Act with A Bag's Life!
Through a partnership with A Bag’s Life public awareness campaign, KTB is bringing you a new way to get your community excited about recycling plastic bags. Getting involved is simple – we encourage you to put together your own Caught in the Act event. This event can be standalone or in conjunction with a Great American Cleanup event you may already have planned. All you have to do is commit to educating and encouraging your participants to recycle their plastic bags - that’s it! Register your event with KTB and A Bag’s Life will ship you – free of charge – a variety of promotional giveaways, such as buttons, magnets and personal plastic bag collection receptacles; and educational literature about the reduction, reuse and recycling of plastic bags as long as supplies last.
In addition, you’ll receive an e-toolkit to help you navigate the ins and outs of event plannin
g. It includes a media release template and tips for approaching your local media; an introduction letter you can personalize and send to local retailers, asking for their cooperation; and a planning checklist. We also encourage you to partner with local retailers; in addition to the toolkit, you’ll receive a list of businesses that are open to advancing a message of plastic bag recycling. Once A Bag’s Life verifies the retailer you’ve partnered with, you can request gift certificates from that business, to be used as raffle prizes for those who attend your event and bring bags to recycle!

After your event, we want you to share your success by completing an event wrap-up form. We also encourage you to share your event photos with us. You may be featured on KTB’s website, in KTB publications or even on our Facebook and Twitter!
