Host a Workshop!
Host a Waste In Place curriculum workshop for teachers,
community volunteers, and youth leaders in your area!
Cost & Funding
KTB urges you to seek funding for a Waste In Place training from local industry,a local school district, or your local council of government.
Click here for a Waste In Place Workshop Training Estimate. The estimate includes travel, lodging, food, supplies, training fees, and curriculum guide costs.
Tips
- A workshop should have 15-30 participants.
- Participants can be not only teachers, but community volunteers and youth leaders as well.
- Provide each participant with a copy of the curriculum ($25). Experience has shown that instructors are more likely to use the material if they have their own copy.
- Some affiliates are adding incentive by allowing $25-$50 extra per teacher to cover the expense of a substitute or a stipend for supplies and materials for each teacher.
- Reel them in with free food! The workshop is six hours long, so be sure to include lunch, snacks, and water.
- Use hands-on activities to inspire group work and idea sharing.
- Promote the cause! Remind participants of their invaluable role in working towards a brighter future for our environment.
