Suzanne Kho joined KTB in January 2016. As executive director, she oversees board development, contract and grant administration, fundraising, finance and organizational planning. She has over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and has held leadership positions at EarthShare of Texas, Beyond Batten Disease Foundation, LIVESTRONG Foundation, the Pew Charitable Trusts and the University of Pennsylvania. She holds an MSEd from the University of Pennsylvania and an AB from Vassar College.
Christine Chute Canul
Senior Program Director
Christine oversees KTB’s affiliate training program, statewide programs such as the Great American Cleanup and Don’t mess with Texas Trash-Off, and KTB’s youth programming, including the Youth & Educator Awards and Waste In Place curriculum. She also serves as the KTB new affiliate liaison and program manager for all Texas communities. Before joining KTB, Christine worked as the community/volunteer coordinator for Goodwill Industries of Central Texas. She also has experience with United Way Capital Area and the Interactive Aging Network in New York. Christine holds a master’s in urban affairs from Hunter College, City University of New York and an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas.
Rebekah Grmela joined KTB in January 2017. As the communications director, she oversees the organization’s overall marketing, media and development strategies. A Texas native, Rebekah is a passionate advocate with a background in impact-oriented community causes including the Hill Country Conservancy, New Milestones Foundation, Impact Hub Austin, Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau, Leadership Austin, Young Women’s Alliance and the Texas 4-H Council. She is a graduate of the Austin CityWorks Academy, Leadership Austin and Texas A&M University.
Melody joined KTB in October 2016 after moving back to her hometown of Austin. As program manager, she supports KTB programming and assists affiliates. Melody has worked in the environmental nonprofit sector for nearly a decade, including the Dallas Zoo, San Antonio Zoo, and Sea Turtle, Inc. She holds a MS in Environmental Science from the University of New Haven and a BS in Zoology from Auburn University.
As KTB’s office manager, Tina is who you will connect with when you stop by the office or give us a call. Although she is a Detroit native, Tina has lived in Texas since 2002 and knew that Texas was her home as soon as she arrived! Before coming to work with KTB, Tina served the Soldiers of Fort Hood for over 7 years. She is passionate about working for a nonprofit and having her efforts align with a noble cause. In her spare time, Tina enjoys spending time with her family and friends and taking in the variety of restaurants and nightlife that Austin has to offer!
