Houston-Galveston Area River, Lakes, Bays N Bayous Trash Bash
Join thousands of volunteers for the River, Lakes, Bays 'N Bayous Trash Bash® cleanup of the Galveston Bay watershed on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Participate in a cleanup at one of 16 locations in the Houston-Galveston area (check locations on website). Last year, 3,600 volunteers collected 85.5 tons of trash, 356 tires, and 1 ton of recycling while cleaning 159 miles of shoreline.
Trash Bash® is
- Free and open to all ages
- T-shirts, cleanup materials, and lunch are provided.
- Each site has an environmental education component and great door prizes.
- Scouts are encouraged to participate and earn a patch. Community service certificates are available.
Over 25 years, 109,421 volunteers have collected 2,274 tons of trash. 11,065 tires and 17.3 tons of recycling on 1,605 miles of shoreline.
